MaineCare program that provides medical coverage for children living at home with long- term disabilities or complex medical needs. Katie Beckett eligibility allows these children to be cared for at home instead of in an institution. Only the child’s income and assets are considered when determining eligibility for Katie Beckett. The parent’s income is needed to see if the child is eligible in another MaineCare category and to determine a monthly premium amount.

A program helping Maine families pursue training and education beyond high school, helping to cover costs related to school.
Eligibility
- Parent or caretaker relative of a minor child who is living with you.
- Maine resident between the ages of 16 through 64.
- Meet the financial qualifications
- Have been accepted to or are enrolled at least half-time in a qualifying training or education program beyond high school. If you are enrolled less than half-time, the HOPE Program needs to approve this.
- Are not currently receiving, or someone in your family unit is not currently receiving, a monthly TANF or PaS cash benefit.
- Are a U.S. citizen or eligible non-U.S. citizen. Many non-citizens are eligible.
- Do not already have a marketable bachelor's degree.
- Are making satisfactory progress in your training or education program (based on your school's standards) and you are on track to graduate.

TANF program that helps low-income parents who are enrolled in two or four-year college studies with, monthly cash benefits (the same amount you would receive from TANF), and support services including child-care, transportation reimbursement, car repairs, book and supplies (the amounts for these supportive services are determined by program rules). If eligible, PaS can pay up to $3,500 for tuition costs per academic year.
