Standardizing Testing
A formal testing program allows schools to look at student performance trends over time. It is very important to remember that testing of any kind is only one piece of the puzzle. Students in grades 3-5 participate in the state assessment NWEAs as required by law. Students in all grades participate in a variety of reading, writing and math assessments in the fall, winter and spring. Scores are indicators of performance, but they are only one method teachers use to assess your child. Your child’s teachers can provide you with complete information about your child’s performance.
